OVERVIEW
What we built for Taiylor Made Art.
Taiylor Wennik is a Tampa-based abstract painter and single mom who came to Skycrest through our Monthly Website Grant. She had real talent and a growing local following, but no business name, no logo, and no website — sales happened one-off through Facebook Marketplace. Skycrest created the Taiylor Made Boutique Art identity from scratch, including a hand-lettered script logo, then designed and built the full website for showcasing collections, selling originals, and taking custom commissions.
THE CHALLENGE
Why the category needed a new take.
Selling art through marketplace listings makes original work look like secondhand goods. Without a name, mark, or home base online, collectors and interior designers had no way to find her, trust her pricing, or commission a piece. The brand needed to feel personal and handmade while reading as a serious gallery-level artist — and the site had to let the paintings carry the page without the design competing with them.
GOALS
What success needed to look like.
- Create a name and logo that feel handmade, personal, and gallery-ready
- Move sales off marketplace listings onto an owned storefront
- Turn commission interest into structured, qualified inquiries
- Rank locally for original art and commission searches in Tampa Bay
APPROACH
How we worked.
We started with identity: the Taiylor Made name, a flowing script wordmark that echoes her brushwork, and a quiet “Boutique Art” lockup that works on canvas tags, certificates, social, and the web in both light and dark versions. The website is built like a gallery — dark, full-bleed artwork, an editorial condensed display type, and generous space so each painting reads as the hero. Structure follows a collector's path: feel the work, meet the artist, browse the collection, then start a commission.
KEY DESIGN SOLUTIONS
The moves that made it click.
Custom script logo and brand identity
A hand-lettered Taiylor Made script mark with a Boutique Art lockup, delivered in white and dark versions for signage, packaging, social, and the website.
Gallery-first homepage
“Art Made To Be Felt.” set over her own canvas work, with a Tampa Bay locator and a single Explore Available Work action that drops visitors straight into the collection.
Collection and shop
Numbered collection pieces, a featured Light Catcher series, and a built-in shop so originals can be purchased directly instead of negotiated through marketplace messages.
Commission inquiry flow
A dedicated “A piece that begins with you” commissions section and in-process gallery that shows how custom work is made, turning curiosity into qualified commission requests.
Local SEO for Tampa Bay art buyers
Metadata, headings, and structured content tuned for original abstract art and art commission searches across Tampa Bay and the Gulf Coast, on a fast, mobile-first build.
